ROC Mentoring Challenge

The ROC Mentoring Challenge involves deciding as an adult living in a family or an individual on your own, that you will sign up with a reputable program and mentor a child. You can make a tremendous difference in a child’s life through one-on-one mentoring. Don’t let fears of being inadequate or fears of getting too involved stop you from giving this a try.

You can set your own boundaries before you start and expect kids to respect whatever boundaries you set. A one-on-one relationship with a child can impact a child more than you even realize at key times in their lives. Kids respond to heart felt interest, concern and caring so don’t think that you need to have a degree in the social sciences to be a blessing to a child.
